THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Neetu's family has filed a complaint against the medical board in the incident where her nine fingers had to be amputated after a fat removal surgery. The complaint is that the medical board gave a report in a way that protected the guilty authorities of the cosmetic clinic in Kulathoor. Neetu's husband's father Padmakumar and mother Sreelatha said that they will approach the court for justice.
Meanwhile, the police have decided to seek clarification in the medical board report submitted by the district-level ethics committee. The medical board's recommendation was submitted to the investigating officer, Kazhakoottam Cyber City ACP JK Dinil, with a dissenting note from District Public Prosecutor Adv Geena Kumari, a member of the district-level ethics committee. If there is any disagreement, the investigating officer should seek clarification. At the present stage, the state-level ethics committee, comprising the Director of the Health Department, Additional Director General of Prosecution and a forensic surgeon appointed by them, will examine the matter. Then, a medical board should be formed with experts and a report should be submitted again.
Meanwhile, the investigation team has decided to record detailed statements of the doctors, nurses and other employees of the cosmetic clinic in Kulathoor, which is accused. The doctors will be called tomorrow and the nurses on Friday. Along with this, the statement of the doctor at Ananthapuri Hospital, who is treating the woman, will also be recorded. It is learnt that the accused are seeking anticipatory bail.
