G Sudhakaran sworn in as pro tem Speaker of Kerala Assembly

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: G Sudhakaran was sworn in as the pro tem Speaker of the 16th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan, where Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to Sudhakaran. Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan and other cabinet ministers attended the event.

G Sudhakaran will oversee the oath-taking ceremony of the remaining MLAs, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday. The pro tem Speaker will continue to preside over the Assembly until the election of the new Speaker. Sudhakaran is the first member of the 16th Kerala Assembly. Ahead of the ceremony, he told a private television channel that he was not interested in the discussion over whether Pinarayi Vijayan would take the oath in front of him.
