Heavy winds and rain; middle-aged man dies while taking bath

THRISSUR: A middle-aged man died after a bathroom wall collapsed. The deceased is Baiju (49), son of Ayyappan, who lives near Karalam Chemmanda Balavadi. The incident took place around 10 am on Wednesday. Baiju had gone to take a bath in the outdoor bathroom next to his house. Due to heavy wind and rain, the bathroom walls collapsed and fell on Baiju's body.

No one in the family was present at the time of the incident. The accident was reported to the Irinjalakuda fire brigade when people heard the noise. The fire brigade arrived, removed the walls, took Baiju out and took him to the hospital, but could not save his life. Kattoor police reached the spot and took action.
