KOZHIKODE: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized those protesting against the relocation of Palayam Market to Kalluthankadavu. The chief minister said that it will always be difficult for some people to accept development.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was speaking after inaugurating the new Palayam Market in Kozhikode and handing over the keys to the traders.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan:

“The opposition is pretending not to see the achievements. We are being forced to watch many dramas in the guise of protest. What is the motive behind not accepting the good things happening in society? Shouldn't we accept things that benefit the state?

The opposition is staying away from the inauguration program. There are no Congress and League members. No local MP is in the program. It is unbecoming of the opposition to protest every initiative that the government comes up with. People are recognizing everything. I don't think the opposition will change their stance. The people will understand the benefits of the project."

A section of traders are protesting against the shifting of the Palayam vegetable market in Kozhikode to Kalluthankadavu. A war of words that soon morphed into a skirmish occurred near the inauguration site between two sections this morning.
