PALAKKAD: There are reports that a ‘A’ group meet led by Shafi Parambil MP was held in the wake of the sexual allegations leveled against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. The meeting was held at KPCC General Secretary C Chandran's house yesterday. It is reported that the meeting was held to discuss on how to bring the MLA to Palakkad.

The ‘A’ Group's move is to make Rahul attend the programmes of various organizations, clubs and associations. The meeting assessed that it would be a crisis if Rahul stays away from the constituency for a long time. Shafi Parambil did not respond to the media when he reached Palakkad yesterday. His explanation was that he came to attend a private programme.

However, KPCC chief Sunny Joseph told media that he was not aware of the meeting led by Shafi Parambil. The organization took an appropriate decision on Rahul’s issue. Sunny Joseph said they will consider and do everything, including on how to make him active in Palakkad. He responded during house visits in Kannur.

Meantime, DYFI activists blocking Shafi Parambil in Vadakara, led to a clash. Shafi's car was stopped near the Town Hall and slogans were shouted. The incident happened when he was returning after inaugurating the Onam programme for the differently-abled at Town Hall. The police tried to stop the activists, but they did not withdraw. The UDF is planning to intensify protests over the incident. The UDF activists had yesterday protested in Vadakara.
