THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Intelligence wing chief P Vijayan has filed a complaint against ADGP M R Ajith Kumar. The complaint filed to the DGP said the statement given by Ajith Kumar before the investigation team that Vijayan has connection with the gold smuggling, is false. The complaint also demanded action be taken in this regard. P Vijayan's complaint has been handed over to the government for further action.
The government had appointed an investigation committee headed by DGP Sheikh Darvesh Sahib to investigate the allegations levelled by P V Anvar MLA against Ajith Kumar. Ajith Kumar gave his statement against P Vijayan before this committee. Ajith Kumar's statement was that SP Sujith Das had told him that Vijayan has involvement with the gold smuggling gangs in Karipur. However, Sujith Das had denied this.
P Vijayan was last year suspended pending investigation based on Ajith Kumar's report that he leaked the information of the accused in the Kozhikode train attack case. Vijayan returned to service after senior officials rejected Ajith Kumar's report.
Meantime, the vigilance department is preparing to give Ajith Kumar a clean chit in the disproportionate assets case. The vigilance' stand is that nothing illegal was found in the investigation. The vigilance report says that there is no truth in the allegations levelled by Anvar.
