THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has announced a surcharge of 7 paise per unit for electricity usage in April. This is to cover the additional expense of ₹14.38 crore incurred in February.
In March, the surcharge was 8 paise per unit. Earlier, until February, a higher surcharge of 19 paise per unit was charged. Consumers received some relief in February when a 10 paise surcharge, previously imposed by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission, was removed.
