THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Mohanlal took a trip down memory lane, travelling on a KSRTC bus and recalling his college days spent riding transport buses. He was in Thiruvananthapuram to take a look at KSRTC’s latest Volvo buses, scheduled to be flagged off this evening by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Initially, it was announced that Mohanlal would travel in the new Volvo bus, but due to security reasons, that plan was dropped.
"I used to travel a lot in KSRTC buses earlier. At that time, buses like these didn't exist. Transport has changed in a remarkable way now. I think Ganesh Kumar has been able to bring a comfortable transport system. I'm not saying this just because he is my friend and a family friend. He is really doing a lot of good things for KSRTC," Mohanlal said.
When asked whether the bus journey reminded him of his college days, the actor replied that the sight of the bus itself was enough to bring back those memories.
A program called Orma Express was organised the other day as part of the flag-off of KSRTC’s new buses. In this event, director Priyadarshan and actor Manianpilla Raju joined Minister Ganesh Kumar in a ride on a KSRTC double-decker bus and shared their old memories.
