'Leaders threatened me over WhatsApp status related to Suresh Gopi'; Mahila Congress leader joins BJP

PALAKKAD: Mahila Congress Palakkad District Secretary Jayalakshmi joined BJP ahead of the election polls. Jayalakshmi joined BJP during the campaign event of BJP candidate Sanku T Das from Shoranur. Jayalakshmi said that she went through many bad experiences with Congress, which forced her to end all association with the party.

'Congress leaders threatened and vilified my family and me for posting Suresh Gopi's daughter's wedding photo on WhatsApp and Instagram stories. Many people will join the BJP with me,' Jayalakshmi clarified.

Suresh Gopi criticised the Congress for insulting Jayalakshmi and her family for sharing his daughter's wedding photo.

“Even during the time of VS and Karunakaran, political enmity existed. But nobody dared to insult anybody’s family over politics. That is not the case now. What Jayalakshmi and her family faced was a politics of revenge. It is high time the people of Palakkad show them their place,” said Suresh Gopi.
