WAYANAD: A leopard which fell into a well in Kalpetta has been rescued. A team from Muthumala, Tamil Nadu, took the leopard out by administering tranquilisers. The leopard was placed inside a net and then it was pulled out using rope. After taking out, it was transferred to a cage set up nearby. The leopard will then be taken for primary treatment.
The leopard fell into the well on Thursday night. The forest department officials were informed by the house owner who saw the leopard inside the well this morning. The officials tried to pull out the leopard by placing a ladder inside the well but the attempt ended in vain. Then the help of the team from Tamil Nadu was sought.
