THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The AICC leadership pacified those KPCC general secretaries who were dissatisfied with being removed from the responsibility of districts and assigned to constituencies for local body elections.
They were instructed to be vigilant on the issue of voter list revision and to work on it on a district basis.
Permission was also given to distribute the responsibility of assembly constituencies to DCC office bearers. The district responsibility has been given to KPCC vice presidents.
The general secretaries had expressed their dissatisfaction in the KPCC meeting the other day. Following this, AICC general secretary Deepa Dasmunsi met them on Thursday and clarified their responsibilities.
It was instructed on Thursday that general secretaries would be in charge of 75 important assembly constituencies. With the inclusion of three more people, there are now 62 general secretaries. The newly appointed general secretaries are Maryapuram Sreekumar (Thiruvananthapuram), Sooraj Ravi (Kollam), and Abdurahman Kutty (Thrissur). The leaders were instructed to be active in the constituencies directly from today, when the filing of nominations begins.
