Migrant worker mob lynched on suspicion of theft in Palakkad, three booked

PALAKKAD: A migrant worker, who was beaten by a gang in Palakkad's Walayar, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. Ramnarayanan, a native of Chhattisgarh, was beaten to death by the mob. It is alleged that a few people attacked him after suspecting theft. Ramnarayanan, who suffered injuries, was shifted to the Palakkad District Hospital on Wednesday evening.

The Walayar police registered a case and started an investigation into the incident. Three people were taken into custody. Ramnarayanan's body will be subjected to a postmortem at Thrissur Medical College Hospital tomorrow. The report will give more clarity about the cause of the death.
