Monsoon may arrive in Kerala tomorrow, widespread rain today; IMD issues yellow alert
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is likely to witness the arrival of the southwest monsoon tomorrow. The monsoon has currently advanced into the southwest Arabian Sea, the Kanyakumari region, the Bay of Bengal, and most parts of the Andaman Sea. In addition, two cyclonic circulations have formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the southwest Arabian Sea at an altitude of 3.1 km to 5.8 km above sea level.
The combined effect of these weather systems is causing widespread heavy rainfall across the state. Rain is expected to continue in many parts of Kerala today as well.
