PATHANAMTHITTA: The Pathanamthitta District Sessions Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of S Jayashree, former devaswom secretary in the Sabarimala gold theft case. Jayashree is the fourth accused in the Dwarapalaka case. The special investigation team found that she corrected the minutes of the devasom board. Jayashree wrote in the minutes that the copper plates should be given to Unnikrishnan Potty.

The FIR said Jayashree registered as copper plated despite knowing that the dwarapalaka idols were gold-plated. Jayashree approached the court initially citing health issues. Jayashree, a native of Thiruvalla, presently lives in Kakkanad.

Meantime, the officer who handled the controversial files in the Sabarimala gold theft case in 2019, has been transferred. The action is against Shyam Prakash, who was the Sabarimala section clerk in the office of N Vasu when he was the Devaswom Commissioner. Shyam Prakash is presently the zone officer of the Thiruvananthapuram devaswom vigilance. The Vigilance SP realized that this officer was in his office after the gold theft investigation began. The SP then directed him to take mandatory leave. The transfer is after that. Shyam Prakash was transferred from devaswom vigilance to Varkala Group. His transfer is as assistant devaswom commissioner. Shyam Prakash was the one who handled the files making gold to copper.
