THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC declared 'dies-non' to counter the national strike to be held by various trade unions on Wednesday. The salaries of those who do not report for duty tomorrow will be cancelled. The KSRTC CMD's order asks staff members to seek police help in case of any untoward incidents while on duty tomorrow. Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar earlier clarified that KSRTC is planning to distance itself from the national strike on Wednesday.

A joint forum comprising ten central trade unions and various sectoral associations and federations has called for a national strike tomorrow. The trade unions say that more than 25 crore people will participate in the strike. The strike is being held to demand the withdrawal of new labour rules introduced by the central government and an increase in the wages of workers.
