
KANNUR: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) said the video footage of KSU activists attacking Health Minister Veena George at the Kannur railway station is not clear. The RPF team examined the CCTV footage after the minister said that she was attacked. However, it was found that there was no footage of the minister being attacked.
The Government Railway Police (GRP), which operates at the railway station had demanded the RPF for footage in connection with the case. It was during the inspection that it became clear that there was no such footage. After the incident, the railway police reached the hospital to record the statement of the health minister, but could not do so due to health issues. The police are proceeding with the case based on the statement of the minister's security officer. The railway police have started investigation after registering the case.
Meantime, Veena George admitted at Kannur Pariyaram Medical College will undergo an expert examination today. The MRI scan found that there are no serious problems. The initial examination found a slight injury on her neck. The medical board will meet today.
The minister was admitted to Pariyaram Medical College at around 10 pm last night. The minister, who was in the intensive care unit of the district hospital, was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital for further tests at night.
