THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC Working President PC Vishnunath MLA has questioned whether the CPM has become a party that is afraid of songs. He mocked that proceeding with a complaint against the song is a bigger comedy than a parody. Vishnunath told the media that the CPM's situation is pitiful.

"Crores of rupees were spent on campaigning during the election. The parody song came out when the Sabarimala gold robbery was discussed. It was not even known who wrote it. There are many reasons for the election defeat. The Sabarimala gold robbery is one of them. A hate campaign is being carried out even against Kunjabdulla, who wrote the song. This is a creative protest song by the writer against the gold robbery. The ones who should get their feelings hurt are the ones who are in jail. Protesting against freedom of expression in Nishagandhi... Filing a case against the song... This is the kind of comedy that the CPM is doing now. The song was written by someone who has no connection with us. It was the media that found the person who wrote the song," Vishnunath said.

A parody song that begins with "Pottiye, kettiye swarnam chembai mattiye" is currently being widely circulated on social media. The general secretary of the Thiruvabharanam Patha Samrakshana Samiti has filed a complaint against this song to the DGP. It is reported that a case will be registered only after conducting a preliminary investigation into the complaint. The complaint states that the parody song contains references that hurt faith.
