Power tariff hike in state from today, increase for four months

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Power tariff hike in the state will come into effect from today. There will be a rise of 9 paise per unit. The hike is not applicable to domestic customers who consume only up to 40 units. The hike was to cover the additional liability incurred by the board for purchasing power from outside last year.


Rs 87.7 crore will be collected. In June 2022, there was a rise of 25 paise per unit in general.
