Rahul Mamkootathil taken into custody; detained from Palakkad hotel late at night

PALAKKAD: Police have taken Rahul Mamkootathil MLA into custody. According to reports, he was detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) late at night from the KPM Hotel in Palakkad.

Sources say the action is based on a new case registered following a complaint received through email. The case includes serious charges such as rape and forced abortion. Police have recorded the woman’s statement. Police said that Rahul Mamkootathil, who has been taken into custody, will be taken to Alathur for further procedures.
