RC, K Muraleedharan, Bindu Krishna; New ministers to be announced soon, discussions ongoing in KPCC headquarters

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As the UDF government is set to take oath and assume power on Monday, discussions related to the formation of the cabinet are progressing at the KPCC headquarters. It is believed that the complete list of ministers will be released by late Saturday night. A decision will also be made regarding the departments.

A rough agreement was reached on the Congress's ministerial list. There is uncertainty about one or two MLAs. According to the current agreement, Ramesh Chennithala, P.C. Vishnunath, K. Muraleedharan, M. Liju, and Bindu Krishna are expected to become ministers. Chandy Oommen and I.C. Balakrishnan are also being considered. Although Thiruvanchoor demanded a ministerial post, it is indicated that he is likely to be made the Speaker. Among the constituent parties, the Kerala Congress is demanding two ministerial posts. Among the single-party MLAs, C. P. John may get a five-year term, Anoop Jacob, and Mani C. Kappan may get a two-and-a-half-year term.

The Congress offered four ministers and one cabinet-level post to the Muslim League, as the party had demanded five ministerial posts. The names of P.K. Kunhalikutty,​ K.M. Shaji, N. Shamsuddin,​ V.E. Abdul Gafoor,​ Parakkal Abdullah,​and A.K.M. Ashraf are under consideration.

I.C. Balakrishnan, Kodikunnil Suresh MP, RSP leaders Shibu Baby John and N.K. Premachandran is also being considered at the KPCC headquarters.
