KOTTAYAM: After the results of the inspection of the stale fish caught from Etumanur the other day came out, the municipal authorities were in a panic. The inspection report of the Food Safety Department said that the caught fish had no chemical content following the complaint of the locals that it was not edible. After the report from the lab in Thiruvananthapuram, the municipality decided to return the caught fish.

After completing the procedures, the municipality said that the lorry and fish will be released. But the municipal health committee is alleging that there has been a twist in the inspection. The health department of the municipality seized three tons of old fish yesterday evening due to a complaint from the locals. Municipality's position is that the fish is not edible due to age, although the test results show that there is no presence of chemical substances.
