THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala witnessed yet another record liquor sales during this year’s Onam season. In the last ten days, liquor worth Rs 826.38 crore was sold. Initial reports indicate that this year, an additional sale of Rs 50 crore happened compared to last year. It is also reported that six outlets had a turnover of more than Rs 1 crore. Last year, liquor worth Rs 776 crore was sold during Onam.
On the day of Uthradam, liquor worth Rs 137 crore was sold. Last year, it was Rs 126 crore. The Karunagappally outlet is leading in Onam liquor sales. It sold Rs 146.08 lakh on Thursday. The Asramam outlet in Kollam is in second place. It sold liquor worth Rs 123 lakh. The Edappal outlet is in third place. It had a turnover of Rs 110.79 lakh.
