Serious security lapse at Padmanabhaswamy temple; report flags missing valuables donated by devotees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Valuables offered by devotees were found missing from the Padmanabhaswamy temple. A report from the temple brought out the shocking news. A copy of a letter sent by the state police chief to the additional chief secretary, citing a serious security breach at the temple, has surfaced.

Approximately 78 grams of gold bars and coins received as offerings from devotees have gone missing. The gold lamp that was replaced for repairs was not, while a silver lamp that is not in the official records was installed in its place. An ornament called Vairanama has been missing for six months. The copy of the letter sent based on intelligence information has been released.
