KOCHI: Actor Siddique in a letter informed his consent to appear before the investigation team for questioning in the molestation case. Based on the letter, the actor will be summoned for questioning very soon. The questioning is expected to take place next week. The investigation team has decided to summon Siddique and record his statement.
Earlier, the police delayed a decision on issuing the notice as the anticipatory bail application was pending before the Supreme Court. It was at this juncture that Siddique stepped in informing his consent. The investigation team considers this to be a shrewd tactic from the actor.
The complainant, an actress in the industry, alleged that Siddique molested her inside a hotel room in Thiruvananthapuram. Summoned on the pretext of discussing a movie project, the actor was alleged to have sexually molested the complainant. Police registered a case in this regard.
Siddique himself has admitted that he had seen the complainant in Thiruvananthapuram. The Supreme Court had stayed the actor's arrest for two weeks in the case. After the High Court rejected anticipatory bail, Siddique, who was absconding, moved Supreme Court for respite.
