Singer Chitra Iyer’s sister dies in accident in Muscat

KOLLAM: Sarada Iyer (52), daughter of prominent agricultural scientists late Dr R D Iyer and Dr Rohini Iyer of Thazhala Kuthirapanthi Vengattampalli Mutt, died in an accident. She died in an accident while trekking in Muscat the other day.

Her body has been kept at a hospital in Muscat. Her funeral will be held later. Sarada Iyer was former manager of Oman Air. She is the sister of prominent playback singer Chitra Iyer. Their father Dr R D Iyer passed away on December 11. Sarada Iyer, who was here to attend her father’s funeral, returned to Muscat on December 24. She leaves behind her son Kabir, who is in Australia.
