SIR's first phase to be completed by Nov 25; 64.45 lakh people have received enumeration forms so far

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Electoral Officer Dr Rathan Kelkar has announced that the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list- the distribution of enumeration forms- will be completed by November 25. BLOs must finish distributing the forms by that date, and District Collectors must ensure that the performance of BLOs is closely monitored by EROs, AEROs, and BLO supervisors. Dr Kelkar gave these instructions during a video conference held today with District Collectors.

He said that progress is visible even on the sixth day of form distribution across the state. As of 6 p.m. today, around 64,45,755 people (23.14%) have received the enumeration forms. He added that this is not the final figure, as not all BLOs have yet uploaded the complete data, and the actual number will be higher. Dr Kelkar said there are no major difficulties in completing the first phase before November 25 in Kerala.
