PALAKKAD: The brother of Soumya, who was murdered on a train in Shoranur, has been found lying dead in his bedroom. The deceased is Shoranur Karakkadu native Santhosh (34). He had been working as the driver of Ottappalam Tehsildar.

Santhosh's body was found today at 1 pm when his mother Sumathi and locals opened the door together. Sumathi said that Santosh had gone to sleep the previous night and hadn't opened the door since. Shoranur police arrived at the spot and took further action. The body will be shifted to Ottapalam Taluk Hospital.

Soumya (23), an employee of a private firm in Kochi, was attacked by accused Govindachami on February 1, 2011, while she was travelling on the Kochi-Shoranur passenger train. She succumbed to her injuries on February 6 at Thrissur Medical College. Although Govindachami was initially sentenced to death, the Supreme Court later commuted the sentence.
