THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It is believed that councilor R Sreelekha demanded Vattiyoorkavu MLA V K Prashanth to vacate his office in the corporation building without consulting the BJP leadership. The stand taken by R Sreelekha on the second day of taking charge has left the BJP in a quandary. The leadership is a bit confused on how to resolve Sreelekha's request to vacate the rented office in the corporation building.

The CPM has come forward strongly against her move. It is the council meeting that should decide whether or not to vacate the building being paid rent to the corporation. In such a situation, the main question is under what authority did Sreelekha demand Prashanth to vacate his office. Neither the BJP nor Sreelekha can answer this.

Sreelekha said that she requested him to vacate the office out of friendship. Sreelekha tried to cool down the controversy by meeting Prasanth in person. However, even before this, the CPM had raised the issue as a political controversy. It is reported that the BJP leadership is unhappy with Sreelekha for her demand without consulting the party.
