Thar loses control, hits scooter; scooter rider, student injured

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A scooter rider and a 12-year-old student were injured after a Thar SUV lost control and crashed in Koliyakode, near Thiruvananthapuram, on Sunday afternoon. The vehicle, which was heading towards Malayinkeezhu, reportedly lost control, hitting a scooter coming from the opposite direction and then striking the student before ramming into an electric post on the roadside. The accident took place at around 3.30 pm on Sunday.

The injured have been identified as Jishnu (12) and a scooter rider from Madavila. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital, and their condition is reported to be stable, according to the Nemom police. Jishnu was returning home after attending tuition classes when the accident occurred. Locals said the car was being driven by a doctor from Malayinkeezhu. The scooter was completely destroyed in the collision.
