Thoppil Bhasi's sister Bhargavi Amma passes away

VALLIKUNNAM: Legendary screenwriter Thoppil Bhasi’s sister Vallikunnam Cherunikal Bhargavi Amma passed away on Friday. She was 98. Bhargavi Amma is also the mother of late Thoppil Gopalakrishnan; CPI leader, former national general secretary of AIYF and former editor of Jana Yugam.

Bhargavi Amma is the daughter of the late Thoppil Parameswaran Pillai and Nanikutty Amma. Husband is late Shankarapillai. Children: Vijayalakshmi, late Thoppil Gopalakrishnan, Saraswathi, Ramachandran Pillai, Vijayakumar.

Nephews: Late S. Mohanachandran Pillai, famous cartoonist and District Treasury Officer; Prof. Usha Kambisseri, (former PSC member), L. Sindhu, A Mala (Daughter of Thoppil Bhasi).

Famous theatre actors Thoppil Krishna Pillai and Madhavan Pillai are her brothers. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 am at Cherunikal house premises.
