Two fares for same class: KSRTC 'super-scaming' passengers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC is cheating passengers under the guise of superfast. The fare to go to Ernakulam in a KSRTC superfast is Rs 263. The new super fast non-AC buses launched under the moniker 'Brand New' are charging Rs 271 instead. If the journey is to Kozhikode, it will be Rs 492 instead of Rs 479.

The increase comes despite the fact that there should not be two fares in the same class of bus. KSRTC is making lame excuses like new buses have fewer stops and will not stop at all depots. Buses do not charge more even if they have limited stops. Ordinary and fast passenger buses are running as limited stops, but there are no changes in the ticket price. Premium AC superfast buses are also operating at higher charges.

The new buses are more fuel-efficient and therefore cost less. The fare increase is a ploy to increase daily collection. Ordinary buses are widely charging exorbitant fares with 'City Fast' boards. Kaliyakkavilai bus services are also running as city services!
