KOCHI: The police have registered a case regarding the incident where businessman Boby Chemmanur was given unauthorized assistance in jail. Infopark police have filed a case against eight people, including suspended Jail DIG Ajayakumar and Kakkanad District Jail Superintendent Raju Abraham, based on a complaint from within the jail.

While Boby was in Kakkanad Jail following actress Honey Rose’s complaint, Jail DIG Ajayakumar allegedly facilitated an unauthorized visit. Visitors reportedly met Boby in the superintendent’s office for around two hours. There are also indications that Boby was illegally given money during this meeting, violating prison regulations, which prohibit direct monetary transactions with inmates.

Instead of enforcing these rules, the concerned officers allegedly helped Boby Chemmanur by breaking the law. During the meeting, the DIG himself reportedly handed Boby Rs 200. In addition to the DIG and the jail superintendent, four male officers and two female officers have also been named as accused in the case. With their involvement confirmed, further legal actions, including possible arrests, are expected.
