THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said at the Left Front meeting that the UDF is exaggerating police atrocities to overcome the political crisis it is facing. "The Left Front should stand united against this. It is true that there are some isolated incidents. There is a clear political agenda behind the fact that old cases are now being brought against the police. The police are working efficiently. Some minor issues have arisen. The lapses on the part of some officials are being exaggerated. It is completely unrealistic to say that there is lock-up violence in the entire state. The government's stance is that lock-up violence will not be allowed. Many police officers who committed crimes in the past nine years have been removed from the police force. With the local body elections in view, the UDF is conducting anti-government campaigns with the help of some media," said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The Chief Minister said that the government was able to fulfill the needs of the people well during Onam. Benefits were provided to the common people. Pinarayi Vijayan added that the opposition is spreading false news under the belief that all this has given the government the upper hand. The Chief Minister praised the work done by Civil Supplies and ConsumerFed during Onam. The Chief Minister spoke for about three and a half hours in the meeting. The Left Front is of the view that there should be no direct protests against Rahul Mamkootathil in the Assembly.
