Woman elopes with Malayali youth from another religion; Hindu groups allege love jihad, stage protest

MYSORE: A married woman from a village under the Bankal police station limits eloped with a Malayali youth from another religion. The police tracked down the couple to Kerala after the woman's husband filed a complaint.

Following this, she was brought back to the Bankal police station. Soon after, leaders and members of local Hindu groups gathered outside and raised slogans, alleging it was a case of love jihad. Police shut the station gates, but protesters blocked a nearby national highway. The protest was called off after police assured the complainant that action would be taken within two days.
