Woman of scheduled caste files complaint for ‘purification’ done after transferred from Secretariat

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A complaint has been filed for purifying Secretariat after a woman official of Scheduled Caste was transferred. A native of Konni has filed a complaint against secretariat assistant Premanand for insulting her on her caste while she was serving as office assistant in the vigilance cell of administration reforms. He is the leader of secretariat association.


She was transferred to the office of devaswom secretary. The woman filed a complaint with the SC-ST Commission alleging that he purified the table and chair she used when she was transferred. The complaint was filed on May 30. A complaint was also filed with the cantonment police.

The commission has directed the secretary of the public administration department to submit a report on the complaint within 20 days. The respondent in the complaint is an office bearer of a pro-government organization in the Secretariat. The complainant is also a member of this organization. Her complaint said that the respondent was not in good terms with her before she was transferred and thought it could be the difference in post. She was transferred on April 1. The complaint said that when she went to her old office to take her bag which she had forgotten, heard him saying that he had purified the premises.
