THRISSUR: Students who came to school wearing black clothes after observing a fast to visit Sabarimala were asked to leave the class. Two students of Alagappa Nagar Panchayat Government Higher Secondary School were not allowed to attend the Plus Two science class. The class teacher and staff secretary were of the view that they could only sit in the class if they wore their uniform. The incident came to light when the students went home and informed their parents.

BJP, Congress, CPM workers and panchayat officials reached the school after getting the information. BJP workers demanded that the teachers who expelled the students apologise. The issue was resolved after the school authorities agreed in a discussion led by Puthukkad SHO Adam Khan to allow the students to wear black clothes.
