Youth released on bail by forest department in Thrissur found dead

THRISSUR: A youth, arrested and released on bail by the forest department, has been found dead. The dead is Midhun of Kanjirakode in Thrissur. He was arrested by the forest department in the case of buying meat of wild boar. The locals staged protests against the forest department.

The forest department arrested three including Mithun six months ago. They were arrested by a team of Wadakkancherry Range Forest officials in the case of buying one kilo meat. They were also produced in the court. Midhun’s family said that he was under severe mental stress after being released on bail. He had gone to get his mobile phone back from the forest station yesterday. He was missing since this morning. He was found hanging in a search conducted.


The locals are protesting strongly against the forest department. The forest department had registered a case against Midhun by portraying him as a regular wild boar hunter. Midhun was also portrayed as such before the media. Mithun, a Shingarimelam artist, drives auto and works in construction field to support his family. Midhun leaves behind his mother, wife and two children.
