NEW DELHI: CPM State Secretary MV Govindan said that Nilambur MLA PV Anwar has become an axe in the hands of the right wing. People and comrades who love the party should come forward. MV Govindan added that if Anwar's stance and political approaches are examined, it will be clear that he has little understanding of the system of the Communist Party. He stated this in a press conference held at Kerala House in Delhi.

'PV Anwar was a member of a family with a tradition of Congress party. He left the Congress when K Karunakaran formed the DIC. DIC went back to Congress but he did not. After that he took the stand of cooperating with the party. He won the election as an independent with the cooperation of the Left. Before that, he contested as an independent in Eranad constituency but failed', said Govindan.

MV Govindan added that the party has given all due consideration to Anwar. Anwar is not a member of the Communist Party but only a member of the Parliamentary Party. He don't know about communist system. The party did listen to Anwar's complaint. He filed the complaint after the allegations were made public. Anwar committed a breach of discipline. He does not speak with the sentiments of common people. The Chief Minister assured Anwar that the party will not protect wrongdoers' - Govindan clarified.
