THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the Left Democratic Front did not achieve the expected results in the local body elections. Although LDF was expected to win well across the state of Kerala, it has not been able to make such a breakthrough. The Chief Minister was responding through a press release after the election results were announced.
The Chief Minister said that the election results will be examined in detail and necessary corrections will be made before moving forward. The Chief Minister said that the NDA's victory in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram and the influence of communalism in the election campaign are worrying for those who believe in secularism.
"The election results are a warning that we need to be even more vigilant not to fall prey to the evil propaganda and cunning tactics of communal forces. The results also underscore the need to continue the fight against all forms of communalism with greater vigour. We will work committedly to further strengthen the LDF's foundation and increase public support for the Left Democratic Front government's development and welfare programs," the Chief Minister added in the press release.
