KOTTAYAM: Many small and big potholes, waterlogged after rains, and even walking is impossible. This is the road condition in Puthuppally constituency, which has been the focus of political Kerala for a month now. Chandy, who won with a record majority from their votes, is the hope of the locals now.

The road in front of the Puthuppally Panchayat office has collapsed due to rains. Due to renovation work at the Puthuppally bus stand, vehicles are plying through this road. Many vehicles pass through this road every day. The road has been in horrible condition for months. Two-wheelers avoiding falling into potholes lead to accidents and severe traffic congestion is also experienced. In connection with the funeral procession of Oommen Chandy, the road was made passable by carrying out temporary repairs but it is back to its old state due to heavy rains. Commuters and the general public are hopeful that travel on the road will become smoother as the development plans of the newly elected MLA are implemented.

Meanwhile, the potholes were temporarily closed under the leadership of the police after the motorists were stuck in traffic. A temporary solution was found by placing interlocking blocks in the areas where the large crater had formed and water had accumulated.
