‘Sarin’s statement is not party’s stand’; rejects Palakkad CPM district secretary

PALAKKAD: Left Front candidate Sarin's stand that the midnight search was a drama enacted by Shafi Parampil is not that of the party, said Palakkad CPM district secretary E N Suresh Babu. Suresh Babu clarified that Sarin said so because he knows all of Shafi's tricks.

Suresh Babu challenged opposition leader V D Satheesan and asked him not to scare M B Rajesh showing an ola paambu (a snake toy made of coconut leaves) and said that he will not step foot in Palakkad after the elections.

Palakkad LDF candidate Dr P Sarin had a different version in connection with the midnight raid in Palakkad. Sarin said that it should be investigated whether the search was plotted by Shafi. The police should clarify from where they got the basic information for the search. Sarin also demanded an inquiry whether the platform was deliberately created to accuse the BJP-CPM nexus.

It is now a practice to make people who are trying to bring to light many things happening secretly, accused. The UDF candidate is saying contradictory things. Things challenging democracy are happening.

It is the politics of the left to expose those who try to hijack democracy and find people who have committed crime. The left will go to any extent for that. The police investigation need not be narrowed down to just one person. When you do that, you should realize that many others will escape. The face of the UDF campaign, which thought it would have a wave in its favour, came out overnight,’ Sarin clarified.
