Recently, there was a news of a 20-year-old woman's death due to an allergy caused by eating shrimp. The said woman, Nikitha, a native of Palakkad, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Thodupuzha.

Eating certain food items may cause allergic reactions in some people. Unrecognized allergy can lead to death. Many people are allergic to shrimp. The main symptom of an allergy caused by eating shrimp is itching.

There will be bumps on the body and later it will become itchy. Itching is mostly felt in the body parts like eyes, mouth and skin. This condition is also known as eczema or atopic dermatitis. Brown spots on the skin is also another symptom.

If you experience respiratory problems or chest pain after eating shrimp, you should seek medical attention as soon as possible. Fatigue and dizziness are the main signs that you are allergic to shrimp. Health experts say that such symptoms should not be taken lightly.
