ALAPPUZHA: When his sixth child was born, Kunjankutty told his wife, "Let's name our son 'King Kong'." Although surprised at first, she later agreed with a smile. Everyone who hears this name will be surprised like this. Then they will laugh. Having experienced this firsthand, including when he met his wife for first time, everything is fascinating to Kanichukulangara's King Kong. The name 'King Kong' was given by his father in admiration for the character of Dhara Singh in the movie by the same name. Kunjankutty, a native of Kanichukulangara Ayyanattuveli, was a farmer.

The plot of the film, starring Dhara Singh, is about a young man who saves the villagers from a large dinosaur and is given the title of 'King Kong' by the king and gets married to the princess. This Hindi film was released in 1962. Kunjankutty fell in love with the hero character after watching the film at the talkies in Kanichukulangara. It was during this period that Kunjankutty's sixth son was born. The baby boy was very healthy. King Kong is happy to have a different name from his other siblings, who are Divakaran, Bahuleyan, Sivan, Purushothaman and Bhasi.

King Kong (62), who joined Cherthala Autocast as a contract employee after his pre-degree, is still working. His wife is Usha. King Kong is the Mararikulam Block Congress office bearer and INTUC Mandal President. If given the opportunity, he will contest the upcoming local body elections. He contested the last election but did not win.
