The new order of the world is using technology for everything. Now, a system to check whether a person is alive or not through a mobile application is becoming a hit. The application called 'Are You Dead?' (known as 'Sileme' in Chinese) It is creating a huge wave in China. The use of this app is also very simple. The user has to log in every two days. If they do not check in, the app will call the phone number provided as an emergency contact and inform them that the user may be in danger.

The app was launched in early 2025, but initially, no one was very interested. The story changed when people living alone in various cities in China started downloading the app en masse. It has now become the most downloaded paid app in China. The app describes itself as a companion that ensures safety, whether you are a student living away from home or someone who has chosen a solitary life.

Chinese youth say that this app is a great help for young people living alone. At the same time, the youth also share the opinion that the name of the app has become negative. The BBC report says that not much information is available about the founders of Are You Dead?. China's Global Times reports, citing research institutes, that there could be up to 200 million (20 crore) isolated people in China by 2030.
