COPENHAGEN: Carlsberg has introduced the world's smallest beer, the size of a grain of rice. Danish beer maker Carlsberg has come up with an interesting symbolic stunt to promote moderate and responsible drinking. The company has launched an experiment by introducing the world's smallest beer bottle.
The bottle, which is the size of a grain of rice, is just 12 mm (0.47 inches) tall. Inside the bottle is a single drop (0.05 millilitres) of non-alcoholic lager beer. That's just 0.008 percent of a pint of beer. It features the original Carlsberg label and cap.

Carlsberg said the bottle is a work of art and aims to inspire people to drink responsibly and in moderation. “To promote responsible drinking, we present our most moderate idea ever. The world’s smallest beer holds only one-twentieth of a milliliter and is so small that it’s easy to miss. But the message is much bigger: we want to remind people of the importance of drinking responsibly”, says Casper Danielsson, Head of Communications at Carlsberg Sweden.
The ultra-precise bottle was made by Glaskomponent, a Swedish company that manufactures glass for laboratory equipment. The non-alcoholic beer itself was specially brewed at Carlsberg’s experimental brewery in Falkenberg, Sweden, to deliver an intense taste experience even in small quantities. Reports say that the bottle is being prepared for exhibition at the Carlsberg Museum in Copenhagen.
