Dancer and actress Shalu Menon is familiar to all Malayalees. She was jailed in the solar case. The actress opened up about her 49 days in jail in an interview given to a media.
She said that she did not get any consideration as an actress and like everyone else slept on the floor. Only her mother, grandmother, her students and their parents were with her at the time of the case. Even our relatives stayed away from us. They later united with us.

Shalu said that she lost film offers after the case. Some said should we cast a person who had served jail term, in serials. That pained me a lot. One can never defeat an artist. I have not committed any mistake. I have a good job. I am a teacher, she said.

‘Then came the morphing case. I myself was shocked to see it, but no one called me and enquired about it. I came to know from someone. I saw and then left it. This happened in 2009. People at that time didn't know much about morphing, but the people today are aware of it,’ she said.
