NIA opposes Swapna Suresh's bail plea, tells court she has strong ties inside and outside country, did act of terrorism

KOCHI: The NIA has demanded that Swapna Suresh, the accused in the Thiruvananthapuram airport gold smuggling case, not be granted bail. The affidavit submitted to the NIA court said that Swapna has strong ties inside and outside the country and that her deal was a threat to India's economic security. The main goal of Swapna was to make money. Smuggling is a threat to India's economic security and national security itself. The NIA said in an affidavit that this was an act of terrorism.
167 kg of gold was smuggled. Apart from Dubai, Swapna also has plans to smuggle goods from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait. According to the NIA affidavit, Swapna's deal was a threat to India's financial security.
