All things happen for good, even Brahmapuram fire

The saying “ All things happen for good” fits well in the Brahmapuram issue, but only in parts. Kochi is a major tourist attraction and gets a lot of eyes for its serene beaches and walkways that still carry the remnants of history. Such is the mirage that nobody saw the real disaster for years. It was all shrouded in the unspoiled beauty of the land near the Arabian sea. So, considering that point, the current predicament of Brahmapuram proves to be a good omen, at least the works can start from now. However, the thousands who are choking amidst the cloud of smoke in Kochi will go brusque if presented with this viewpoint.

There are many such Brahmapurams in Kerala. Such cases popping up can gift a downward spiral for the many lauded politicians who are nothing but inept demagogues just in place to fill pockets. Brahmapuram won’t be any different as the moves have been made to incriminate the contract company which will give wiggle room for the politicians involved to escape. Cases of seminal importance have only a short lifespan in Kerala. With the arrival of any new case, the last one will be erased from the general conscience of Kerala and things return to square one.

Kochi Corporation has been a failure in handling the crisis. A CBI involvement and a subsequent arrest won't quell the situation in Brahmapuram. The moves should be made to end the catastrophe that the people of Kochi have been shouldering for years. The corporation should be distanced from anymore craning its neck into the Brahmapuram issue. If given the responsibility, it needs no morse code to discern that the corporation will again direct the waste plant to shambles. The government that has been a decade old in Kochi gives no heed to the problems of the public, but interestingly and curiously enough the same people get again crowned by the people. The bane of democracy.
