Police and Motor Vehicle Department jointly conduct special inspections; 53 modified two-wheelers seized

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 53 two-wheelers were seized in a state-wide drive conducted to find those travelling at high speeds on modified bikes and doing stunts on the road. The police and the Motor Vehicle Department jointly conducted the inspection.

Rs 6,37,350 was collected as fines during the inspections conducted in various districts of the state. Fines were slapped on 85 people. Rs 1,66,500 was collected as fines from Thiruvananthapuram Rural alone. The MVD recommended cancelling the license of 37 people who did stunts in vehicles.

The statewide inspection was led by South Zone Traffic SP AU Sunil Kumar and North Zone Traffic SP Harish Chandra Naik as per the direction of traffic division IG A Akbar.
