Finally! Edit option comes alive on WhatsApp

Be it Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media behemoth, people like the comment section. Sometimes, these comments go off-kilter and give the burns. The strain may be such that we yearn for an edit option in place. WhatsApp has been slow in this process. The billion-user messaging app has finally called it time to come up with an edit button. Yes! Messages that need to be changed can be edited in no time. Meanwhile, don't just rush to WhatsApp to try this option. The feature is currently in beta testing, released first in WhatsApp beta v2.23.10.13, such that it will take some time before popping up in options.

HOW TO EDIT ON WHATSAPP

Long press the message you want to edit. The pop-up will soon come with the edit option. Click the same to make the necessary change. With completion, the message will be changed but only with an ‘edited’ label. Moreover, you have just 15 minutes to change the message, else it will stay as it is in its original form. The feature is moreover an emulation of iMessage used in Apple. However, small changes put aside WhatsApp as in the allowed 15 minutes, the app user can edit the message countless times.
